President

President - Diana Gutierrez

 
Diana Gutierrez (1981 and 2003) graduated from UT El Paso in May of 1981 with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and received a Master degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University, St. Louise, Missouri in 2003. She is the Human Resources Manager for the The J.M. Smucker Company in El Paso and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Managers and has worked on several local programs. She has served on the Alumni Association Board for six years as a board member as well the Treasurer and currently serves on the Executive Committee as the Ways and Means Director.
     


Vice President
 

Vice President - Omar Veliz

 


Omar Veliz (1998 and 2003) is vice president of Operations and Business Development for EPCON Inc, an engineering firm that provides construction management, design-build, and general contracting services for federal and state government customers. Under EPCON, Omar has managed construction project across southwest Texas and southern New Mexico for entities such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection, National Park Services, the City of El Paso, and the University of Texas System. Prior to joining EPCON, Omar participated in diverse construction projects in the El Paso Texas area such as the Chamizal Theater Remodeling, the UTEP Biosciences Building and the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (Building I). Omar holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Class 1998) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (Class 2003) from the University of Texas at El Paso. Omar is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of New Mexico. Raised in the El Paso and Juarez area, Omar now lives with his wife and two children in El Paso Texas.

Erika Michelle Anchondo (2009) is a first generation graduate. While attending UTEP Erika served as a Senator for the Student Government Association, Vice President of the Student Alumni Association, Student Ambassador at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, UTEP Homecoming Princess 2008 and was a member of over 12 various student clubs and organizations were she served as an officer in over half of them. As a student Erika worked on campus at Student Development Center, University Relations, and Union Services. She participated homecoming activities, Minerpalooza, Welcome Back Week and attended various sporting events. Erika has been accepted to the Master of Educational Administration program and hopes to stay in higher education to work with students providing them the same educational experience she was able to receive.

 
 
 


Treasurer

Treasurer Analisa Cordova

 
Analisa Cordova is a third generation native El Pasoan. She is a proud graduate of Loretto Academy High School and UTEP, where she received a BBA in Marketing and International Business. She served four years in the UTEP Student Government Association, with her highest level of service being Vice-President of External Affairs. She has also held positions of leadership in Zeta Tau Alpha Women's Fraternity, The Collegiate Entrepreneur's Organization, The Student Organization Advisory Board, The UTEP Student Alumni Association, and has served on the UT-System Student Advisory Council. Analisa organized and managed over 30 University and community events including speaking engagements, leadership conferences, banquets, large-scale productions and multimedia forums. Analisa's passion is uniting people and ideas through targeted events that involve culture, art, music, and a community experience. She is currently working for Senator Eliot Shapleigh and is marketing director for Blackbird Concepts a local production company.

Jennifer Rangel (2007) is a proud graduate of Father Yermo High School in which she was a member of the Letterman’s Club and played Varsity Basketball and was awarded All- State Track in 1999. Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and general management from UTEP. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Phi business fraternal organization in which she held the position of Assistant Pledge Educator and recruited 15 new members. Soon after she became the chancellor for the organization in which she enforced the laws and policies of the fraternity. She founded the Women in Business Association at UTEP serving as its first president and was awarded The New Organization of the Year Award and Four Star Organization Award. Currently Rangel is a Certified Assisted Living Manager and works as a Nursing Home Administrator and wishes to remain involved with UTEP through the alumni association.

     


Historian  

Historian - Dov E Kupfer

 


Dov E. Kupfer, AIFD (1981) attended Mesita Elementary and is an honor graduate of El Paso High School. Kupfer received his BA with honors in art all levels with teacher certification from UTEP in 1981. Kupfer is an award winning designer and owner of Designs by Dov E., a freelance floral design enterprise specializing in custom design and events. His interests include photography, stage design, costume design, event planning and décor. Kupfer has held the positions of vice president, treasurer and historian for various organizations including Mortar Board as a UTEP senior. He is experienced in photography, scrap booking and photo album compilation.
